Palazzo Farnese is considered the most imposing Italian palace of the 16th century .It was commissioned in 1515 by Cardinal Farnese who, when became Pope as Paul III , employed Michelangelo to redesign the courtyard and a whole floor. Owned by the Republic of Italy it is since 1936 the seat of the French embassy. Ambassador Catherine Colonna hosted here a magic dinner in honor of Azzedine Alaïa to celebrate his exhibition at Galleria Borghese.
