#smellslikememories
Maison Martin Margiela asked artists from around
the world to photograph moments close to their hearts,
where details call upon an olfactive and sensorial intimacy
that the viewer can discover as though looking into a kaleidoscope.
These images are freely inspired by the themes brought to life
by the ‘Replica’ fragrances: Beach Walk, Calvi 1972; Flower Market, Paris 2011;
Funfair Evening, Santa Monica 1994; Lazy Sunday Morning, Florence 2003;
Promenade in the Gardens, Oxfordshire 1986; Jazz Club, Brooklyn 2013.
This work in progress will continue to grow on social networks
continuing to create more olfactory and collective memories,
